Rejuvenate your skin by boosting collagen production

The Dermapen Microneedling Pen provides an unparalleled response through the segmented delivery of microneedles, creating micro injuries to the epidermis (outer layer of skin) and dermis (the inner layer of skin). As a result, the micro injuries encourage the body’s innate ability to repair itself.
Dermapen is more safe and effective when penetrating the skin compared to traditional micro needling rollers.

Skin needling is effectively used for:

  • Reducing scars (including hypertrophic scars) caused by acne, surgery,or thermal burns
  • Fading stretch marks
  • Reducing fine lines and deep wrinkles
  • Dyspigmentation and melasma
  • Tightening sagging skin.
  • Hair loss solution

The medical community generally considers micro needling to be safe and effective, but there are still some risks.

The primary risk is skin irritation after the procedure. Other side effects could include:

  • swelling
  • discomfort at the site
  • redness
  • bruising
  • dryness
  • flaking of the skin
  • infection
  • skin pigment changes
  • reaction to topical medications used during treatment.

Finally, some people are not candidates for micro needling treatment, including those with:

  • an active skin infection
  • active acne
  • keloid scarring
  • an unstable skin type.

Seeing a Skin care professional who is experienced will help minimize the risks.

Micro needling works by creating small punctures in the skin. it is not overly painful, when micro needling is performed by a professional at Skin Body Rescue clinic, we apply a topical anaesthetic to numb the skin, which in turn you will find the treatment to be comfortable. The wounds made by the sharp micro needling needles are not deep, making them quick to heal. Micro-needling can feel slightly sensitive in some areas closer to the bone, forehead nose etc, but generally it’s not too painful and a quick treatment.

Skin needling can cause some side effects, most of which affect the appearance of the skin. One of the most common side effects experienced is redness of the skin that can look similar in appearance to sunburn. This is a normal side effect that typically lasts no more than a few hours after the treatment. However, some skin needling treatments may cause redness for up to 24 hours depending on the type of skin needling device used. Another common side effect is skin soreness and irritation, which is caused by the needles creating tiny injuries in the skin. This is necessary to achieve the beneficial effects of skin needling. Other less common side effects of skin needling include bruising, itchiness, infection, and sensitivity to sunlight. By choosing a reputable clinic for your skin needling treatment, you can reduce the chances of these side effects occurring.

The recovery time for skin needling is very brief. In fact, most people can resume day-to-day activities immediately after a skin needling session. However, while your skin is recovering from the treatment, it is important to keep in mind several post-treatment instructions to help ensure the best outcome for your skin. These include avoiding exposure to the sun and applying a SPF30+ sunscreen daily, using recommended post-care products to soothe the skin, and avoiding harsh cleansing products such as soap. For 48 hours after your skin needling session, you should also avoid solariums, spray tanning, cosmetic tattooing, excessive exercise, and swimming in chlorinated water. Shaving should be avoided for the first 12 to 24 hours. If there is a skin care product, you are not sure you can use, ask your therapist and they’ll be able to advise you on whether it’s suitable for use or whether it may exacerbate side effects.

Most people need between three and six treatments to see their results. For younger people, one to two treatments are often enough depending on what the concern is and what you are treating. It all depends on your body’s unique cellular turnover rate, your age, and how you have treated your skin in the past.

Once you have the results you are looking for, you can keep them up by coming for a maintenance appointment once every three to six months.

The micro needling treatment can be used nearly anywhere on your body if there is no active infection at the site. We use it most often on the face, but it also helps to erase stretch marks on the thighs, buttocks, back, arms, abdomen, and hips. It is also useful in lifting the neck, as we age, our skin becomes crepey you can especially see this in your calves and arms, so Micro needling these areas will help to stimulate collagen and drive hydrating ingredients deeper to help prevent that crepey skin. Also, we offer micro needling for hair regrowth. Needling works by stimulating dormant hair follicles which equals new hair growth, A series of treatments can be a great option for those who would like to see effective results.

Scarring is rare after a Dermapen treatment.
